1. Who we are
This Privacy Notice applies to the website operated at pennantmoor.com ("the Site"), published by QuartzEdge Studio ("QuartzEdge", "we", "us", or "our"), located at 412 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario M5V 3A8, Canada. You may contact our privacy officer at [email protected].
QuartzEdge operates a free-play social entertainment platform. This Site does not process financial transactions, does not collect payment card data, and does not facilitate real-money gaming of any kind.
2. Information we collect
Because the Site does not require account registration, our data collection is minimal:
- Age confirmation flag: A boolean value ("yes, 18+") stored in your browser's localStorage and/or a first-party cookie. No date of birth or identity information is collected.
- Cookie consent record: Your consent preferences (analytics on/off, marketing on/off) stored in localStorage and/or a first-party cookie. No external CMP is involved.
- Server access logs: Standard web-server logs record your IP address, browser user-agent, request path, and HTTP status code. These are used for security monitoring and discarded within 30 days. We do not cross-reference them with any other dataset.
- Contact form or email: If you write to us by email, we retain your email address and message for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list without separate, explicit consent.
We do not collect: full names, postal addresses, payment information, social insurance numbers, or any biometric data. We do not require you to create an account to use this Site.
3. Legal basis and purposes
Canadian private-sector privacy law (PIPEDA — Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) requires that we identify a purpose for collecting personal information and obtain meaningful consent. Our purposes are:
- Age gate enforcement: We store a browser-side flag when you confirm you are 18 or older. Purpose: to prevent minors from accessing a product that, while not gambling, depicts a gambling-adjacent format.
- Cookie consent management: We store your preference choices to honour them on subsequent visits. Purpose: compliance with PIPEDA's accountability principle and best-practice cookie governance.
- Security and abuse prevention: Server logs assist in detecting and blocking malicious traffic. Purpose: legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
- Responding to enquiries: If you contact us, we use your email address solely to reply. Purpose: fulfilling a request you initiated.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use two first-party browser storage mechanisms:
- qe_age_ok — Stores your age-gate confirmation. Duration: 180 days. No third parties receive this value.
- qe_consent_v2 — Stores your cookie-preference choices. Duration: 180 days. Used to configure the Google Consent Mode signal if Google Analytics is enabled by your choice.
If you enable analytics in your cookie preferences, Google Analytics 4 may set cookies under its own policies. You may withdraw analytics consent at any time using the Cookies button at the bottom of any page.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertising networks, data brokers, or any party for commercial purposes. The only third parties who may receive data are:
- Our web hosting provider — processes server access logs as a data processor under our instructions.
- Google Analytics — only if you have enabled analytics cookies in your preferences. Google's privacy policy governs that processing.
6. Your rights under PIPEDA
You have the right to: access personal information we hold about you; challenge the accuracy of that information; withdraw consent to certain processing; and file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. 7. Data retention
Server access logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days. Email correspondence is retained for 12 months from the date of last contact, then deleted unless there is an ongoing dispute. Browser-side storage (localStorage/cookies) is controlled by you and expires as described in Section 4 above.
8. Security
We use HTTPS throughout the Site. Access to server infrastructure is restricted by key-based authentication and is audited. No sensitive financial data is stored or transmitted through this platform, which materially reduces our risk profile.
9. Children's privacy
The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We use an age gate to prevent access by minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, display a notice on the Site. Continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised notice.
